John David Young is a self-taught guitarist and composer.

A child of the 80’s, Dave (his moniker of choice) developed a fondness for all things cinematic and the fast-growing home video game craze early on. It was, however, the golden age of pop culture and the introduction of MTV into a young and visual mind that would inspire a life-long desire to make music.

Having learned and played guitar in hard rock/post-hardcore bands for much of his formative years, he found himself looking to another path. Through the culmination of tinkering with electronic and hybrid music styles and sound design, as well as higher education based predominantly around self-study and certification through the Berklee College of Music in Arranging and Orchestration for Film and TV, he now pursues a career in film scoring and video game sound.
